VT 06 : 08 days Awake & Shine Samthar & Sikkim Village tour
Day 01 Bagdogra to Kalimpong, 1400m Arrive at Bagdogra by Air. Met upon arrival and transferred to Kalimpong. (2.30 hrs). Drive along forested Teesta River Valley, and ascend to the top for Kalimpong Ridge. Upon arrival Check in at Gurudongma House. In the evening explore bazaar. Overnight |

Day 02 Drive cum trek Kalimpong- Samthar village homestay Drive cum Nature & Culture trek to Samthar. Overnight at Gairi Gaon Village homestay with the Bhujel family.
Day 03 Samthar: Village exploration walk and homestay Lepcha family Full day village exploration walk with lunch at Gairigaon homestay and dinner at Lepcha homestay. Overnight at Lepcha Village homestay with Charles lepcha's family Day 04 Samthar: Nature & culture trek to Lepcha Gompa Full days trek with picnic lunch to 100 years old Lepcha Gompa. Return to spend the evening and overnight at Samthar Farm House Day 05 Trek Samthar – Teesta Valley Ropeway- Drive to Hi Barmoik in West Sikkim Trek down to the Teesta Valley and cross the river over a hand pulled ropeway ( 04 hrs). Picnic lunch . Transfer to car and drive to Sikkim, entering at Malli Check Post. (30 minutes).Mandatory to get Sikkim Entry permit endrosed on your India Visa. Apply for the same whilst getting your India Visa. After border formalities, continue through forests along the Rangit River Valley to the market Town of Jorthang. Drive along the Valley for another 10 kms, to ascend to the top of Rinchenpong Ridge, 1500 m. Spectacular views of deep valleys and snows ( if in clear weather). Driving time is 04 hrs. Day 06 Hi Barmoik village exploration Nature and culture walk Guided village walk to meet various ethnic groups living in the village- Rais, Bhutias, Sherpaa, Gurung, Chhetri, Sanyashi, Bahun. You will be welcomed to their homes, meet families, and peep into lifestyles. All meals and overnight at Dongey House. Day 07 Hi Barmoik- Pamayangtse- Kalimpong Drive to Pamayangtse ( 01.00 hrs) Half day sightseeing Pamayangtse Monastery and Sangacholing Monastery. After early lunch transfer to Kalimpong ( 04 hrs) Overnight at Gurudongma House Day 08 Kalimpong - Bagdogra Drive to Bagdogra ( 2.30 hrs) for departure flight. TOUR ENDS |
